The Occultist: A Miscellany of the Strange

Dead alien found in UFO hotspot in Russia ; With translation (by Allnewsweb)

Before you get all happy, this was promoted by Allnewsweb, which wants you to believe EVERYTHING, and it’s been thoroughly debunked as a fake.

UFO mainstream news coverage MASS SIGHTINGS WORLDWIDE what is going on?! (by aBraveNewsWorld)

I have posted a version of this before but this is a new edit. And it’s creepily effective (except for the persistent misspelling of “transmission”).

Have we found alien life, and does it look a bit like the terrestrial creature you see above? Check it out:

Dr. Richard B. Hoover, an astrobiologist with NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, has traveled to remote areas in Antarctica, Siberia, and Alaska, amongst others, for over ten years now, collecting and studying meteorites. He gave FoxNews.com early access to the out-of-this-world research, published late Friday evening in the March edition of the Journal of Cosmology. In it, Hoover describes the latest findings in his study of an extremely rare class of meteorites, called CI1 carbonaceous chondrites — only nine such meteorites are known to exist on Earth.
Though it may be hard to swallow, Hoover is convinced that his findings reveal fossil evidence of bacterial life within such meteorites, the remains of living organisms from their parent bodies — comets, moons and other astral bodies. By extension, the findings suggest we are not alone in the universe, he said.

We’ve been here before, but it never hurts to wonder.
EDIT: Gawker calls bullshit on this story.

Inexplicata reliably finds strange stories from south of the Equator nearly every week. The photo above purportedly illustrates this one: “Argentina: Alleged Humanoid Figure Reported.” From Inexplicata:

The photo was taken by an anonymous businessman from the city of Almirante Brown. Luis Burgos of the Fundación Argentina de Ovnilogía and his photo analysis team have determined that it is a “clean” image showing no signs of manipulation. “There are very few photos of humanoids in the world,” Burgos is quoted as saying, “and this case acquires major significance in national ufology.”
The photo was taken on March 14 of this year — Easter Sunday — at 15:56 hours by “Ivan” (surnames withheld) in the company of his wife and children.

Man. Random humanoids sure do love to visit South America.

Podcast.

Seth Shostak, senior astronomer at Seti (the search for extraterrestrial intelligence), discusses the latest developments in the project.

The topics covered in this extended interview include what form signals from an alien civilisation would take, what ET might look like, the day Seti astronomers thought they had made contact, and what a confirmed signal would mean for planet Earth.
