The Occultist: A Miscellany of the Strange

People in Blue Springs, Missouri have been seeing strange lights flickering red, green and blue above their homes in the western part of state. It could be a planet, a drone or… (as usual) something else. (via UFOs seen hovering over western Missouri | KMOV.com St. Louis)

UFO On Fire Over Peru? 2012 HD (by StephenHannardADGUK)

Something on fire in the skies above Peru. Odd meteorological phenomenon? Near-Earth object dissipating in the atmosphere? Actual aliens?

The uploader added his/her own music and noise, apparently. Don’t be fooled or influenced by that.

The object is described as a ball of light with a blue glow that moves up and down, in circles, and sporadically disappears and comes back into view. Many say its too high to be an airplane.

I don’t know why Texas is so good for UFO sightings but it is. Always some boogers flying over Texas.

A careful analysis of the events that surround June and July 1947, the birth date of the modern day UFO era shows that what transpired around the well-known UFO cases of Maury Island, Kenneth Arnold, and Roswell itself, was part of a grand deception to convince the Soviets that the United States and its allies had a new secret weapon that would keep the Soviet Union at bay in the event of an armed conflict. Of course no such weapon existed, but that was the plan to begin with - get the Russians to take interest in something so grandiose that ignoring it would not be an option. After all, the Americans beat them to the bomb, and Generalissimo Stalin did not want his empire to be embarrassed once again.

This is a fascinating proposal—it’s almost more interesting than most UFO stories: the UFO wave that began in the 40s was a CIA plot to distract the Russians. It’s a logical theory and fits with the way the Central Intelligence Agency worked early on—intensely covert and completely unafraid of using innocent American citizens to further their agenda.

I must confess I love it when local TV stations get so bored they go ahead and embrace a UFO story. They take an irritating knee-jerk skeptic’s view, usually, but stories like this are still fun.

Multiple UFOs in Low Earth Orbit- NASA Leaked UFO Video! (by SupernovaAnnie)

This video was posted May 1 but I can’t help but feel I’ve seen it before. Either way, it details numerous odd objects seen in low Earth orbit. Most fit the ovoid “foo fighter” description and while I assume someone can give a logical explanation for all of them, I can’t think of one at the moment.

Endlessly fascinating subject whether you’re a skeptic or not.

I love what passes for prose with paranormal writers: “Does the human subconscious have the incredible ability to manifest thought-forms?”

Technically that sentence is fine. Style-wise it’s a mess.

But otherwise, it’s a fun read on multiple levels. No, seriously. Shut up.

UFO mainstream news coverage MASS SIGHTINGS WORLDWIDE what is going on?! (by aBraveNewsWorld)

I have posted a version of this before but this is a new edit. And it’s creepily effective (except for the persistent misspelling of “transmission”).
