The Miami Zombie Attack…

… Was not a Zombie attack. I’ve made jokes about it on Twitter but in all seriousness it was a hideous, drug-fueled crime. That said, this Tumblr user makes a pretty compelling case that something is up. You’ll start reading the list of links with your lips sarcastically quirked and finish ready to head to the hills and wait out the ZombPocalypse.

Mystery Booms in Michigan

The unknown noise is the signature pseudo-paranormal mystery of the early teens, apparently. Here’s a story about a “a loud boom and violent shaking” that occurred in West Michigan earlier this week.

A man from Oshtemo, MI said the explosion shook his whole house. Moreover he said “two trees are parallel and something completely scrapped both trees off at the same height and laid them to the west.”

Explanations?

There were no storms in the area. No quakes were reported. Local air traffic control centers say there were no planes nearby that might have broken the sound barrier.

We are left with a mystery. One that might come to your region soon.

The Weird: The Occultist's Outpost on Jux -

The Occultist has a semi-regularly updated Jux (blogging service akin to Tumblr, more focused on imagery and original content). It’s the same as The Occultist, content-wise. But not exactly.

“From the picture windows in Pam cliff top home on the northwest end of Finley Point, they watched for about five minutes as it swam northeasterly away from shore toward the main part of the lake. They were so surprised that Pam briefly forgot her camera was nearby. She rushed to retrieve it and managed to snap a picture, but it was too far away to identify.” —

Apparently there’s a Flathead Nessie?

According to many sources, Flathead Nessie has been plying the waters of the Montana lake by that name (biggest naturally occurring freshwater lake in the lower 48) since the 1930s.

“The powerful earthquake that hit Turkey’s Van City in 2011 also affected the psychology of the City’s cats. The cats are attempting to commit suicide on a regular basis, said Professor Abuzer Tas, a lecturer at the Faculty of Veterinary Studies of Van’s Century University, Haberturk of Turkey informs.” — SUICIDAL KITTIES WTF

“The unidentified skin disease plaguing Ba To District in Quang Ngai Province continues to elude Vietnam’s public health officials and medical research teams, who now have sort assistance from the World Health Organisation (WHO), the US Centre for Disease Control and Prevention and Japan’s Nagasaki University.” —

SGGP English Edition- Bizarre skin disease eludes Vietnam’s health officials

I honestly thought health officials found the answer to this riddle when they discovered an herbicide behind three deaths that appeared related to this skin disease. The article quoted above implies that still may be the case… but leaves the questions.

I do not thank Stephen King for The Stand leaving me with this undying fascination with puzzling and potentially deadly maladies.
